而齐将军坐镇的地府的主要目的便是镇压十八层炼狱。齐将军赶来阎罗城与吴庚相见，当天便是返回十八层炼狱镇守。可见十八层炼狱是一个非常重要的地方。十八层炼狱关押着无数魂魄。但是每一层关押的魂魄都是不一样的。层数越深镇压的魂魄便是越厉害。据传第十八层炼狱镇压的魂魄每一个身前都是狠角色。
轮回之道乃是天地大道。是冥界气运的存在之一，其实冥神宫派将军镇压十八层炼狱更是看好了这里的好处。十八层炼狱是一种特殊的存在。其实不用派人镇压，这里的魂魄也是出不来。除非悟通天地奥义，达到极限。进入七转，便能冲出十八层炼狱。不然就会被一直镇压其中。但是冥神宫却有方法从十八层炼狱当中提出魂魄。
当然地府的阎王也是有办法，可是地府阎王却也不能随意从十八层炼狱当中提魂而出。除非是七转期的阎王。从十八层地狱提魂是有违天道的。虽然修炼之人就是逆天而行，但是天道不可违也是世人皆知的事情。而七转修士本身便达到了一种“道”的大圆满。自身便是一种“道”的存在。所以十八层炼狱提魂都是由七转期修士出手。
十八层炼狱中生有多种天财地宝。这些宝物就连其他的跨九界势力也眼馋，可眼馋归眼馋。但却是夺不来，只能用另外的天材地宝来交换。十八层炼狱最大的神奇之处，便是十八层炼狱乃是魂归之处，轮回之处。只要魂魄不灭都会轮回到十八层炼狱。而冥神宫却有方法从十八层炼狱当中提魂而出。所以，冥神宫才那么霸道。
冥神宫的人死了，只要灵魂不灭。从十八层炼狱当中提魂而出，然后在重塑身体便是了。拥有身前的记忆和对道的感悟，不出百载便又能恢复到巅峰。所以其他的跨九界势力才会不想交恶冥神宫，冥神宫的人打也打不死，除非直接灭其魂魄。可是冥神宫的人也聪明，在灵魂的修炼上特别用心，而且还准备多种灵魂逃脱的方法。
而且一些九界势力的重要人物死了，也免不了请冥神宫从十八层炼狱当中捞人。所以冥神宫无数载积累下来的底蕴相当骇人。在九界还没有几个势力能够和冥神宫相抗衡的。这也是帝皇界界主雪林头疼的地方，一个柳青不要紧。可是柳青的背后却是冥神宫！雪林得知柳青成为冥界界主的时候，便知道自己拿柳青没有办法了。就算以后斩杀了柳青，冥神宫那种霸道、龇牙必报的性格也让人难受。
十八层炼狱当中出色的魂魄，都会被冥神宫长老提魂而出，抹其灵智。让他成为冥神宫之人。这些人因为灵魂足够强大，成就也是不低。十八层炼狱不停的帮助冥神宫补充新鲜血液。无数载的积累，冥神宫当中的强者多得很。十八层炼狱对冥神宫而言犹如命门的存在。十八层炼狱绝对不像表面那样由一个将军镇压。
吴庚此处前往十八层炼狱，一是进入其中感悟十八层炼狱当中裸露其间的道义。另外便是能否在十八层炼狱当中查到自己亲人的下落。自己的亲人因为自己的关系被杀死，虽然吴庚不说。但是这也是吴庚心中的一处痛。特别是自己的妹妹！
吴庚三两步便到达了阎罗城的传送点。吴庚手持冥神宫的令牌，很轻易的便传走了。甚至连冥石都没有交。传送阵当中的华光缓缓升起，刻在传送阵上晦涩的铭文缓缓发亮。这些铭文都是“空间之道”的一种表示，只有在“空间之道”上有所成就之人才能建设传送阵。还需要随时用领域之力温养。
突然吴庚眼前一黑，这种现象吴庚也是经历过。而且吴庚如今修为不低，对穿梭空间的震荡轻易的便能承受。一般的修士还需要佩戴一些防御的手段。传送阵出差错也是相当骇人，五转期修士才有可能逃脱。不过传送阵都会一直被六转期修士温养，不会出现大的差错。
当吴庚眼前一亮的时候，吴庚已经出现在了地府魂城当中。魂城离十八层炼狱没有多少距离。以吴庚的遁速最多三两个时辰便能够赶到。可是冥神宫对于十八层炼狱的防范特别的严。一般人只要靠近十八层炼狱就会遭到冥神军的阻拦，如果是潜入的被发现是直接杀死。不讲任何情面，就算你是什么大家族的子弟也一样的待遇。
由于魂城离十八层炼狱特别的近，所以魂城常年有浓雾弥漫。有些时候可以用伸手不见五指来形容。这对于修士而言不是什么问题，修士的神识比眼睛更准确。吴庚神识一扫也不惊动任何人，朝着十八层炼狱急速的飞遁。沿途遇上冥神宫的军士，吴庚亮出冥神宫的高层令牌，便能够通过了。
不久吴庚便到达镇压十八层炼狱的冥神塔！
